   I installed the last firmware update and all was fine until I purchased James Bond DIe Another Day on BR, an its doing asit did before the upgrade. Loads the menu and then gets stuck.

   I downloaded the firmware but the BDP9000 player doesn’t recognize it. Thinks it’s a music CD. I followed saving instructions here, but it didn’t apparently work. Unbelievable.

   I couldn’t watch Alien Vs. Predator Requiem, but could watch The Dark Knight. But now I can’t watch Death Race. Machine freezes up after first menu.

   What the hell??????

   THis is really B.S. Even the website comments don’t work. I can’t believe I have to type my comments OVER AGAIN.

   BDP9000 firmware won’t load. Won’t save to disc as instructed here, because the player thinks the CD is music. What the hell?

   Can’t watch AVP Requiem, but can watch Dark Knight. But now can’t watch Death Race. Machine just freezes up after the first menu. Isn’t there something Philips can do about this crap???

   Steve, i was having the same problem my tropic thunder wasnt playing neither was my eagle eye i then downloaded the firmware and it also read it as a cd, what you have to do is when reading the instructions to the firmware it says to image burn the file uncompressed, now image burning is slighty different then just regular burning burning to a cd-r or cd-rw it took me a while but i figured it out. i then installed the firmware it read it and now my movies play fine, i hope this can help your problem and anyone elses please i repeat please dont call philips customer service they suck they told me that bestbuy sold me messed up bluray movies after me calling 3 times

   Hangin there you guys, just found the newest update for this BDP9000. I ‘m writing it right now, will have it up anytime soon.
