Product Overview
The Lite-On DH-4O1S is the perfect all-in-one disc reading device for most popular media formats including Blu-ray Disc, DVD and CD discs. The drive’s Serial ATA (SATA) interface eliminates potential information and performance bottlenecking by offering at least 150 MB/s information transfer rate. It reads BD-R/RE/ROM, Single-layer or Double-layer media at 4X maximum. Single Layer DVD±R or DVD-ROM can be read at 12X max, while Double Layer DVD±R and Single Layer DVD±RW can be read at 8X max. CD-R/RW/ROM has a maximum read speed of 32X.

Functional and cheap

somewhat high – Ownership: 1 day to 1 week
- Good price. Functional, recognized by Vista with no problems. After reading the reviews and comments from forums, I was expecting to not get 5.1 audio out of the OEM bluray software. I was pleasantly surprised to find out that you can indeed get 5.1, you just have to do it over SP/DIF. The analog outputs are restricted to 2ch, but you can get DD5.1 and DTS with an optical or digital coax connection. I don’t need 8ch right now, so this will suffice.
- The PowerDVD software that comes with the device was conflicting with my Symantec endpoint antivirus software. I had to uninstall it to get the software to work.
- If you want 8ch audio over analog be prepared to spend another $100 on software.
